After countless concerts and dozens of performers from around the world, come and help us celebrate the third anniversary of Pulsewave, one of the most unique monthly showcases in New York City.
Whatever you call it -- lowbit, bitpop, chip music, chiptune, or Game Boy music -- Pulsewave has been there month after month kicking out solid lineups, cheap ticket prices, and hosting packed houses. If you haven't had a chance this year to check it out The Tank's new home in Times Square, you are in for a treat when three of the chip music community's most dynamic live acts demonstrate how it's done, at exhaustive levels of excellence.
gwEm & Counter Reset

UK native gwEm describes himself as an "Atari ST old-skool rave DJ and heavy metal dude" which succinctly describes his mad scientist formula of custom-made 8-bit software, hardcore rave and driving hard rock guitar. Having seen success on Berlin's Shitkatapult and Muller labels, his own London-based label preromanbritain, net community Micromusic, and a recent "live" release on the 8bitpeoples label with Counter Reset, gwEm makes a rare NYC appearance showcasing his deep catalog of Atari soundchip classics.
Trash80

This California native makes another legendary appearance for the Pulsewave faithful. Hot on the heels of one of 2008's best releases, Icarus, he also finds time to develop fantastic hardware and software to let folks control their Game Boys via MIDI, and masterminding the deaths of numerous Game Boy Color units with his hardware hack, the pro-sound mod. His music, an evocative and tuneful blend of chip and classic electronic instrumentation will have fans and neophytes alike shaking their asses, or any functional equivalents.
Nullsleep

8bitpeoples founder, Blip Festival organizer, and Pulsewave mainstay qualifies as the third headliner of this incredibly stacked lineup. You know his classic hits, including tracks off his recent Unconditional Acceleration, but be sure to arrive early to catch the full onslaught of his razor sharp live performance and abrasive crowd upbraiding.

Besides making sure everyone's live photos look cool, this potent duo, using custom software on pocket-size handhelds like the GP2x and Game Boy Advance, will tag team an uncompromising assault on your visual cortex throughout the evening.
And don't miss the stupendous return of the Pulsewave Open Mic! Just bring your 1/8th output-able device and 3 minutess of your most killer material, and step up before the show begins, to show off your works in progress, and to demonstrate fully your unheralded genius!
